Wedding cake and gold

Flavour inspiration! Today, on our wedding-cake-baker Alexanders birthday, we went for a tasting of cakes at Mr Cake in Stockholm. Yum!

Since both Maria and I are allergic to gluten we only ate the mushy filling while Alexander focused on the whole cake. ? Perfect combo for the big slices of cakes!

We tried out salted caramel and the choclate cake with raspberry.

I loved the salted caramel! It was so tasty! The choclolate one I didn’t like so much. But that was Alex and Marias favourite. I was hoping for some more original flavours. Like caramelized pinaple or juice cherries or something.. (I’m just making it up, but it sounds good right?!)

The Swedish fika ended in us deciding on flavours! And now we let the creative juices of Alexander flow freely. ?❤ Let Mr Cake..bake!

Oh and another thing! The Gold for our wedding rings arrived on Monday so yesterday I started working on our rings! ??

Lots of love to you all! Have a Pawsome night..or day ?

The change

Our home is all quiet. It is early in the morning and I sit in a moment of gratitude.

I have just wrapped up a week with a lot of work, laying a puzzle with several pieces, in order to move my life in the direction I desire. Hard work, intention, allowing uncertainty and trusting the guidance of the universe.

In two weeks time I am leaving my permenant job, which means working less as a Speech and language pathologist/therapist and creating more space and time for yoga, energy medicine and Pilates. And also for things yet unkown.. ?

My fiancee Maria and I are working on ideas of creating a network to spread more joy, abundance, awareness and fun stuff to share with the world. Let’s see how it goes!

But for now I sit in gratitude. With the intentions I place in my mind together with a willingness to let go and let the universe guide me. Simply move in the direction of my gutfeeling. A big change is coming. Slowly but surely. ???

I wish you all a Pawsome, peaceful weekend ❤ Lots of love ~ Märta

Wedding plans – The start

The sun is up and we have been out to catch the light of day. Like all Sweds, we go out whenever there is a chanse to get some sun. One of the best feelings in the world, especially after a long dark winter, is when you can feel the warmth from the sun on your face again.

Since the proposal we have sporadically started to plan the wedding – like for example I am all over the internet to find cool and beautiful weddingdresses (or outfits ? ).

We have now come to the conclusion that we wish to share this special day with all of our friends and family – we wish to have a huge party – basically – share the love!
That means we are looking for a venue to host a big party. And we have been on a few showings so far…

Not sure though that we have found the spot yet.

One thing is for sure. If it is going to be in Sweden, it will be in Stockholm. Our home, and our beautiful capital.

Lots of love from a sunny Stockholm! ❤?

Wedding dresses!

Morning  time again and I am in my quiet zone. The inspiration is flowing and I just started to look into wedding dresses online… Wooah one can get stuck for hours!

I love design in so many ways – just beacause of the playfullness of forms and colours, the creative process!
Finding the balance of alignments to enhance features is an art. Almost like a dance! In dance we strive to find the perfect alignment to creat beautiful shapes and forms – different constallations – and the skill is not far from creating designs (shapes and forms) in other fields. It is all a dance – a creative expression of life! And when done skillfully – a fantastic creation you can’t take your eyes from. Pure joy, if you ask me.

So sittning here, in the cosy Hotel bed with my bride to be sleeping her beauty sleep next to me, feeling joyfull about planning the wedding and looking at dresses. Who would have thouth, some years ago… ??

But I realized I’m going to need some help!! So please comment down below if you have any ideas for where to turn to for a beautiful wedding dress!

I like a modern touch, Scandinavian simplicity, with a bit of a romantic touch. That said- it wouldn’t surprise me if the dress I’ll wear at the end will look quite different. ? Things never turn out the way we think, so it is best to aim at something and then just go with the flow.

…..(She woke up ?❤)…..
I wish you lots of love and creativity! And please send me ideas for dresses/designs/website! ? ?????

Compassion

I looked up as I was zipping up my jacket, ready to leave for work and go out through the main gates of our apartament building. I spotted a man who tried to get in. It was clear he wasn’t in a good state, affected by something, maybe drugs. I looked down for a second just to quickly decide how to handel the situation.

The man started knocking on the door, begging to be let in. I opened the door and told him to go up to the supermarket with me instead, but then I realise he was freezing and about to collapse. I then heared the tone in his voice, desperately asking to be let in. And so I did.

I called 112 right away and let some electricians working in the basement know that I was upstairs with this man, clearly affected by something. (Did they pass him by on the way in?).

This young mans name was Martin. And he had spent the whole night out in the freezing snow, as it turned out getting numed by sniffing some chemicals. Probably he stayed out on our neighbours patio.
Waiting for the ambulans I had called for, I noticed he could communicate somewhat. I went for a blanket and helped him zipp up his jacket as he was so very cold.

By the first seconds meeting him at the door I realized he wasn’t dangerous, he was desperately asking to be seen and helped.
I stayed with him, patting his back and talking to him about what was going on until the ambulans came. Then I left. Just as I heard his mumbling words “Thank you so much”… Me, who only did so little.

I was shoken up. Not so much by the fact of meeting Martin, a person with a drug addiction,  a man in his early 20’s, spending the night in the street. What especially got to me, and made me cry as I walked away was that it happens every day, so close by and most of us are so numed by it, we start to ignore it. We don’t even look at people on the streets as fellow humanbeings, as equals.

They may have ended up there by making bad choises, having terrible childhoods or just simply by fucking up. But don’t we all sometimes fuck up? And what do we wish for then? My guess is; compassion. And a helping hand. To be seen, and to be heartfelt. ❤

I hope you all are warm, loved and seen in some way and that you all send Martin a loving though. ❤

Flexitarian – Saturday dinner in the woods

A few months ago I got asked to help some friends decorate their apartament. I got to be their interior designer for a little while and I enjoyed it very much. I love doing anything with shape and colours, weather it is a blank canvas, a fabric, photography, a clean face to do make up on, a total make over, or anything else that can be shaped, reshaped or just created in harmony with shapes, colours and lines. Movement; dance and yoga included. All just for the fun of it! For the vibrant colours and for the love of creativity.

A blank canvas, a clean face or even food – all for being creative and playfull with colours and shapes. And trying to look good at times ??

As a thank you they gave Maria and I a gift card at a lokal shop. Almost like a small version of Whole food markets, but only located here in Stockholm. All good merchandise, organic and mostly (if possible) locally produced. I love it, so many good things there!

So on our way to our friends house, out in the Woods.. we stoped by and got some good things for dinner. Usually I eat vegetarian, but I don’t want to exclude anything so once in a while – A good piece of meat… with a glass of red wine.. with some great company.

Toasting to some good news! I’ll tell you more soon…! ?

I hope you all hade a relaxing, good weekend. Lots of love ~ Märta

Date night ❤

Maria is back after visiting her family in her hometown for almost a week..

And Napoleon and I are thrilled! ?❤

Last night after Maria got home we went out on a date. I had booked the tickets already this summer and was so excited it was finally time!
We first went to Centralbadet for dinner, in their lit up indoor green garden; a sort of light therapy for our dark Scandinavian months, in the middle of Stockholm.

The food there is a mixer of really healthy meals and Scandinavian classics. I had a Portobello burger with sallad, so delicious!

In the green garden our friends Brittis and Ida met up with us (also known as Eddy and Patsy, if you recall Absolutely Fabulous ?) and made sure the glasses were filled with wine ?? at least for Maria and Brittis.

A stone’s throw away the show was about to start; The Nutcracker! By Fredrik Benke Rydman – one of Sweden’s most acclaimed choreographer.

A mixer of street-, break-, jazz dance and balett.

My heart were singing and my soul were dancing with the performers on stage to the beat of the rythm. I felt like I was floating on the music of the classical notes. I loved it. ❤

How so many layers of messages can be delivered and interpret by so many with music, movement and staging says it all. No spoken language needed. ❤

Now it is time to give Maria a massage and enjoy the Friday feeling. Napoleon is already on the table waiting ?? Lots of Friday fun and love to you all! ?

Spiritual Sunday

To discover and know the light within you,  is a big part of the spiritual journey.

Tonight I joined a friend who wanted to attend a seans for the first time. This transformation from never imagening attending anything spiritual, thinking and acting only with and from our mind to open up and discover more to ourselves as a spiritual being, usually happens when we lose someone close to us. So was the case for my friend. Death can be birth in disguise not only for the soul crossing over but also for the ones left behind <3

For me, let’s just say it was not my first contact with the spirit world.. I’ll get back to you on that, I promise. It’s one of my favourite topics. ?

The seans was good, but even better was the lovely time me and my friend spent connecting after the seans – talking about life. It happened to take place at a cosy Italian restaurant that was open nearby. Luckily for us, cause a candle lit little table in the window corner felt just like the right place to escape the storm outside and to connect. To spirit, to each other, to life. Laughter and tears.

So thank you life and Lotta, for a lovely Sunday evening. I hope you all had a wounderful weekend <3

Lots of love ~ Märta

Flying high on a friday night

Last winter I told Maria that this is the last winter I will spend in Sweden. I said “From now on, unless we are blessed with a newborn, I will spend one month of the winter somewhere warm and sunny. That’s it, at least one month during the winter time from now on – life is too short to wait.” I was cold, sick, tired and determined. I also strongly believe energy flows where attention goes.

So before being invited out for dinner tonight – I booked the tickets!!! 😀

Salt laquorice sauce with almond floof and raspberry sorbet – so good.. Thank you Ingrid <3

Can you guess where we are going?

Tomorrow, after the morning Pilates class, I will tell you about our travel plans and… what is going on with our baby plans 😉

I wish you all a beautiful Friday <3 / Märta

Dancing Queens

I was going to tell you about this week, many exhiting and beautiful things has happened! Yoga and Pilates classes almost everyday. Interesting, lovely people, my special tuesday activity .. 😉 and plenty more. But!!… I have a problem to solve. Can you help me?

A wannabe Dancing Queen (?).. at her former work place. 😉

You see my best friend J, is coming to visit next weekend. Great! With her she brings her 4 year old son and her wife. All good. Maria and I will be baby sitting on Friday night so that the lovely ladies can go out for some fun with my best friends wifes family who is gathered in Stockholm for the weekend.

My best friend J and me.

So here it is – me and J want to go out dancing on Saturday! 😀 Caramba! Yeay! It’s a gay party and all! I haven’t been out dancing in ages. It was actually Maria’s idea. She wants to go too! Grrreat!

Cray fish Swedish tradition with J last year. Maria doesn’t like Cray fish so the best way to eat it is with someone else. Preferably this one 🙂

But how shall we conivince the wife of my best friend that going out dancing is a great idea, while she has to stay in with theire son?!?

I know it may sound a bit selfish.. but I only see my friend so rarely, so lets hope we can come up with something that works. Maria even calls my friend J “my dance girlfriend” ? Luckily Maria is not the jealous typ. I love her for it! (But she hasn’t got a reason to be jealous anyway ? ? )

So…. will we be Dancing Queens next weekend or…?

Well, let’s see 😉

Lots of love and Dance to you all! Xoxo <3
