Thankful Thursday – A Cliché? Or a Good Practice?

What do I have to be grateful for? Thankfully, plenty.

It is a lot of talking and writing about thankfulness and gratitude journals etc these days. So is it just another way of masking negativity and denying the dualism of this world? Or does ‘thought of gratitude’ actually bring something of value?

Being thankful goes way back in spiritual practices. It is a long lost wisdom that is being rediscovered. I believe, this new reinforcement of gratitude is partly due to the new attention and popularity of Yoga and Mindfulness etc.

But there is a reason for these almost cliché-expressions like “Thankful Thursday” – it actually works.

Being grateful has been shown in several studies to affect our brains in a positive way and being of great help in expanding ones life quality, improving the feeling of contentment and being at peace.

Off course it can also be used as a way to mask negativity. But let´s just say that that wont work in the long run. You can´t block things out, you have to deal with them. And as long as you deal with how life is and accept what is in front of you (or with in you) with a loving kindness, the practice of gratitude can really be efficient.

So how do I practice it? Keeping gratitude journals can be great for some. But I like to keep things more simple. I don´t believe there is a “You have to do it this way”. Try different approches and see what works for you.

Every morning when I wake up I take a few deep breaths, center myself in the ‘here and now’, and then I focus on the gratitude for a moment, while still in bed. Wich just might be my first thought of gratitude – our comfortable bed.? Other things that usually comes to mind when paying attention to things I am grateful for is ‘waking up next to Maria’ ‘having our Zen master Napoleon in our lives’ ‘waking up healthy, free of disease (if I am, off course)’ ‘being able to breath and having lungs that function’. And so the list can go on.

My one tip for you when starting practicing or just paying attention to things you are grateful for in life – Anything goes! Nothing is a cliché and being grateful for a beautiful new piece of clothing or for breathing fresh air is just as good as any thought. ??

Last but not least, I am grateful for all of YOU! Reading and sharing and commenting – spreading the love together with Maria, Napoleon & I.

I wish you all a Thankful Thursday ? ~ Märta

Pawsome spirit

Today I sit in my new office at home. This is the first week with more time on my hands to work towards my dreams. I feel so happy and inspired! And a bit scared. ? That only shows I am on the right track.

My dream is to help women create joyful, healthy lifes through a shift in awareness. To help women ground themselves into who they are so they can discover their beauty and be Pawsome Spirits too! All for one, one for all. ❤ There is a need for women to start empower themselves and other women along with them! To (re)discover the strenght, love and joy from within. ❤??

I know what it is like to beat yourself up. That used to be me. When something didn’t go well how quickly I was sending negative thoughts to and about myself, aware or unaware of what I was doing.

And when you judge yourself really hard, you judge others the same way.

I’ve been through a lot – years of severe illness, stress, death, unhealthy behaviors, not knowing my true self and not knowing what was in my heart. ❤

But I grew wiser. And all the hard times has served me for the better.

When there is darkness, the light becomes more obvious and it can give energy to the light to grow stronger. The darkness however is not necessary. The light is always present, but we humans tend to not see the light and so we are helped by the duality of this world – the darkness and hard times – to discover the light and joy from within us.

So this joyful, healthy way of living is what we are working on – the shape and form of it is under developement and also, this is just the begining. ?✌? A begining that starts with – “Anything is PAWSIBLE”.

With lots of love, we wish all of you Pawsome Spirits out there a happy weekend! ?????

The change

Our home is all quiet. It is early in the morning and I sit in a moment of gratitude.

I have just wrapped up a week with a lot of work, laying a puzzle with several pieces, in order to move my life in the direction I desire. Hard work, intention, allowing uncertainty and trusting the guidance of the universe.

In two weeks time I am leaving my permenant job, which means working less as a Speech and language pathologist/therapist and creating more space and time for yoga, energy medicine and Pilates. And also for things yet unkown.. ?

My fiancee Maria and I are working on ideas of creating a network to spread more joy, abundance, awareness and fun stuff to share with the world. Let’s see how it goes!

But for now I sit in gratitude. With the intentions I place in my mind together with a willingness to let go and let the universe guide me. Simply move in the direction of my gutfeeling. A big change is coming. Slowly but surely. ???

I wish you all a Pawsome, peaceful weekend ❤ Lots of love ~ Märta

And that is what we will give and share with you on PAWSOME MOMS! Thank you for joining and let us know what inspires you in Life! Comment down below.

First yoga in Bali ?

Last night we tried another restaurant for dinner here in Ubud, or more like it, a café – Café Vespa. The feeling was more western than the other places we’ve tried.

We shared a big coconut. They are so delicious here in Bali! The taste is fresh and not too sweet. Not to mention all the healthy benefits from drinking a coconut. A really good thing is to squeez some lime in to it. Yumie!

Maria had an Italian inspired veggie dish and I had an Indian inspired dosa (sort of a crepe but glutenfree) that I filled with mashed sweet potatoe, spinache, schreded coconut and hommus. Delicious!

Today we had our first yoga session and since we’ve been jetlaged from our arrival to Bali, we started off with some gentle restorative yoga at this nice place close to our house outside of Ubud.

In the middle of a rice field, in the open air, together with Oscar the very relaxed  yoga cat, we got into a good vibe with some rewinding yoga.

And off course, we chilled off with a dip in the pool afterwards. ???

Tomorrow new adventures await…

Lots of love ~ Märta ?

Flow

Today has been a day of gratitude and flow ❤

I started off with a meditation in bed this morning, with Napoleon by my side…

And I finished the day with such a great group of people in my Pilates class.

(I always forget to take photos in the yoga studio!?)

The words that came to me through meditation this morning was this;

“I let my life flow without resistens. I go after what I want, then letting go of the attachment to the result.”

I let my life flow without resistance.

If I know one thing for sure it is this; I am guided in the right direction. When I take action and follow my gut feeling – my heart – what is best for me will unfold.

So my friends, that also means to rest in the uncertainty ❤ And that is what I do and it feels so good ? At least today!

And tomorrow will be exhiting – fun date coming up!

Good night, lots of love ~ Märta

Why “Why?” is so important!

I hope you all are having a wounderful Saturday!

I am on the sofa, lit candles and a cup of tea, Napoleon curled up beside me, doing one of my online courses with the intention of step by step creating my dream life

As you know, Maria and I are looking in to ways of expanding our living, to creat what we think would be our dream life. That sounds pretty good, right? But, It will take a LOT of hard work and significant changes for the both of us. And the motivation doesn’t spring from not being in a good place, because I am, at least sort of … 😉

Yet, this is what we are working on, step by step, to get to our dreams to become real. But why? Why do we do this? And why is “Why?” so important?

I can only speak for myslef so here are my “Why’s”:

Freedom – to be able to work more freely, to be able to travel more frequently, and to be able to work from around the globe.

Prosperity – I wish to have more time spent with my loved ones; family and friends, than what I have today. That requires the money flowing in to support it. I also want to creat more time for myself for healthy habits, creativity, hobbies and passions. Plus I want to share a lot of it with you! I have soooo many ideas and things I want to share with you! Plus, I do believe in ‘give and recieve’ and sharing is the way to do it 🙂

I want to show myself that anything is pawsible

Plus, if we will have children in the future, I want to show them by example that we are limitless possibilities. That we have more to chose from then what our society teaches us today. As long as we do it with love, connectedness to our heart, and in the intention of creating good for our selfs and the people around us.

And my last but not least “Why” is this – I want to show myself that anything is pawsible.

Why are the “why´s?” so important?

So why are the “why’s” so important then? Let me tell you that the days when you feel like you´ve hit the wall, like nothing works, and like you are doing no good – those are the days you will need to remind yourself of WHY you are doing this.

I wish you all a cosy evening <3

Lots of love ~ Märta

What to do and best Xmas present ever?

We all face challenges sometimes, big or small, and this week has been a bit challenging for me. I believe that we are guided in the direction we need to go and combined with our free will, we end up exactely where we need to be.

Right now I am feeling really tired, sad and fed up with my job (the one where I work as a Speech and language pathologist in the health care system). I got a bad cold this week and after a.. crappy meeting with my boss, it got even worse and I lost my voice. I know, I know what is said in eastern medicin that not speaking up or speaking your truth or shutting down emotions often effects the throat. On top of it my nose was stuffy indicating confusion or not knowing what to do.. I don’t always think these “diagnoses” are correct, but in this case they are. I don’t know what to do with work right now. And that is connected to life in general. Where am I heading? Am I doing what I love? (When did I stop?) Can I love what I do? Or do I need to change my job? Can I support myself working more with yoga, energy medicin etc?

My wish is to work part time as a Speech and language pathologist (less than I do today) and part time with energy medicin, yoga, Pilates and voice therapy. Lets see what happens. Today I am just sick and sad and sort of giving up. Letting go. From there, good stuff usually arises. Or at least new things, when releasing old. And Maria and I are heading towards a more free lifestyle so maybe this is a nod in the right direction?

Thankfully I have one of my best friends here this weekend (even though she’s out and about with her family and relatives of her wife) I still get some good vibes from that. Unfortunately the only dancing Queens we will be is right here in our living room. Dancing with their boy Noa who loves to play ballerina (yeay!) and leaving the night out on town, conquering the dance floor at a gay party, for another time when my throat and head is better..!

So leaving the confusion for now, let me tell you about what I think might be the best Christmas present ever?!?!

Imagine this; Maria and I waking up on Cristmas morning. Having a nice, cosy breakfast and then a few hours later – up in the air, with a glass of sparkeling white wine, toasting to our long trip to…. Bali!!!

What do you think? Best Christmas present ever or what?!?! 😀 <3

Lots of love to you all, xoxo ~ Märta

Spiritual Sunday

To discover and know the light within you,  is a big part of the spiritual journey.

Tonight I joined a friend who wanted to attend a seans for the first time. This transformation from never imagening attending anything spiritual, thinking and acting only with and from our mind to open up and discover more to ourselves as a spiritual being, usually happens when we lose someone close to us. So was the case for my friend. Death can be birth in disguise not only for the soul crossing over but also for the ones left behind <3

For me, let’s just say it was not my first contact with the spirit world.. I’ll get back to you on that, I promise. It’s one of my favourite topics. ?

The seans was good, but even better was the lovely time me and my friend spent connecting after the seans – talking about life. It happened to take place at a cosy Italian restaurant that was open nearby. Luckily for us, cause a candle lit little table in the window corner felt just like the right place to escape the storm outside and to connect. To spirit, to each other, to life. Laughter and tears.

So thank you life and Lotta, for a lovely Sunday evening. I hope you all had a wounderful weekend <3

Lots of love ~ Märta

Happy hips! And sweat pants Sunday..

I am planning next weeks yoga class and I intend to give my yogis some Happy hips! By my side I have the Zen master, Napoleon – the cat in Stockholm.

When studying Napoleon, I learn from the best about being present, savasana (resting pose in yoga) and playing, just for the fun of it  🙂

In eastern medicin it is said that in the hips we store our past. In western medicin we say stiff hips is due to sitting still a lot, which we do nowadays. Either way (or any other way for that matter) opening up and strenghtening the hips is really good for us. After a Happy hip yoga class I usually feel so much more grounded and light at the same time.

Let’s see what this weeks classes will bring!

Namasté and lots of purrrrr ???❤
